Every Insight workbook has consistent controls for synchronising the workbook with the Insight database. The workflow is simple, login and 'Receive' to update your workbook with the latest data. Press 'Sync' when you are ready to share your work. You control when to synchronise your work so, just like any other spreadsheet, you can complete your work and share it only when your ready.
Data that is needed by the Insight database is checked inside every workbook, so errors can be easily corrected 'at source'. Need something that is not in the workbook? No problem, it's a spreadsheet, so you can extend it to meet your local needs. You can even add extra columns to the sheets that are synchronised with the Insight database.

The minimum needed is just task name, start date and end date, ideal for novice Project Manager's just beginning to develop their skills. The more experienced can work in Microsoft Project™ and import the entire plan into Excel™ with just 2 clicks.
Although you are working in Excel™, your data is in a database. It's shared seamlessly between multiple workbooks, eliminating copy & paste. Anyone with authorised access to Insight can synchronise their workbook anywhere in the world. After you've synchronised your workbook, the same data is available to the PMO and stakeholders. It will appear in their workbooks formatted as they need.
You can share your workbooks just like any other Excel™ workbook. Email it to a colleague, they won't need an Insight account to see and edit the workbook.
